Stellate Ganglion Block for Riverdale Pain Care

A stellate ganglion block is considered when a focused nerve treatment may fit the patient’s pain pattern. The decision starts with a full pain evaluation, symptom review, medication check, and discussion of daily movement.

This page serves patients who want to understand safety before choosing an interventional treatment. The key decision is whether the expected purpose of the block fits the diagnosis, medical history, and treatment goals.

Our practitioner view is simple: risk questions should be answered before a procedure is scheduled. A clear plan matters more than rushing toward an injection.

  • Share current symptoms, including any breathing difficulty, before treatment planning.
  • Bring an accurate medication list and relevant medical records.
  • Ask how bleeding, infection, nerve injury, and medication reaction will be reviewed.
  • Confirm what follow-up care and movement guidance may be part of the plan.

Tracy checked me in. Tony triaged me and Dr Scott took care of me. They made me feel welcome and comfortable from start to finish. I don't think I've ever had a doctor's visit this WONDERFUL! I barely felt a thing and as a person who is terribly afraid of needles, they took all my fears away and provided an excellent experience. Tony plays your favorite music during the procedure and it lasts about one song. I cannot say enough good things about this place!!!

Questions About Nerve Block Safety and Fit

Before getting started, what risks should I consider before a stellate ganglion block during the on-site evaluation?

Breathing difficulty, bleeding, infection, nerve injury, and medication reaction are key risks to discuss before treatment. Your physician reviews your symptoms, health history, and medicines to judge whether the block fits. Tell us about new or severe breathing trouble before an appointment. We’ll explain the planned care and safety questions in plain language.

How does the physician decide if this nerve block fits my pain?

The pain pattern, diagnosis, health history, and treatment goals guide the suitability decision. Our team reviews symptoms and current medicines before discussing a targeted block. The plan may also include medication management or rehabilitation guidance. A different treatment may be more appropriate when the clinical findings do not support a focused nerve approach.

Which medical records should I bring to the consultation for Stellate Ganglion Block?

Relevant medical records and a current medication list help the physician assess safety and treatment fit. Bring imaging reports, diagnosis information, and details about prior pain care when available. Include information about allergies and past medication reactions. These details help us explain the next step without relying on incomplete history.

When should breathing difficulty be reported before treatment?

Breathing difficulty should be reported before treatment, especially when it is new, worsening, or severe. The symptom can affect the safety review and may need prompt medical attention. Share when it began, how it affects you, and any related diagnosis. Our physician can then explain whether a consultation or another care setting is appropriate.

Why does medication review matter before a nerve block?

Medication review matters because current medicines and health conditions can affect procedural safety. The physician checks what you take and asks about allergies, prior reactions, and relevant diagnoses. This review supports a more informed treatment decision. We also explain upfront pricing and the planned care before you choose to proceed.

When scheduling Stellate Ganglion Block, what changes the cost of this treatment plan?

The assessment, proposed treatment, medical needs, and related care can change the cost. We discuss those factors during consultation and provide upfront pricing before treatment. Free consultations are available. Ask which services are included in your plan so you understand the expected charges before deciding on care.
