Stellate ganglion block care for Conley nerve pain

A stellate ganglion block is considered for selected pain patterns affecting the arm, hand, shoulder, or upper chest. The treatment may be discussed when nerve pain continues after an injury or remains difficult to manage with other care.

Patients need more than a symptom label before an injection. Our physician reviews the pain pattern, medical history, current medicines, and prior treatment. The decision focuses on safety, likely fit, and the next step in care.

This page serves people seeking focused interventional care in Conley while also considering broader treatment needs. A block may be one part of care, not a substitute for diagnosis, rehabilitation, or treatment of the underlying condition.

  • Bring a list of current medicines and prior pain treatments.
  • Describe where the pain starts and where it travels.
  • Share any injury history, imaging, or related medical records.
  • Ask how a block fits with medication care and rehabilitation.

Service Overview

A stellate ganglion block is an injection near nerves in the neck that may reduce pain signals from the upper body.

  • A nerve block targets pain signaling, while medication management and physical rehabilitation address other parts of a broader care plan.
  • Premier Injury Specialists provides this service for patients in Conley and surrounding communities.
Process

How we plan this nerve block treatment

1

Review the pain pattern

The physician maps where symptoms begin, where they travel, and how they affect movement or daily tasks.

2

Check medical suitability

The care team reviews medical history, current medicines, prior treatment, and relevant records before discussing an injection.

3

Explain the treatment choice

Patients receive a plain explanation of the block, its purpose, and how it may fit with other pain care.

4

Set the next care step

The physician outlines the next step, which may include interventional care, medication management, rehabilitation guidance, or further evaluation.

What patients get from this pain care

Physician-LED treatment selection

Patients receive a medical review before an injection is considered. A stellate ganglion block is the wrong fit when symptoms need another diagnosis or a different treatment path.

A plan shaped around your symptoms

Pain location, nerve symptoms, prior care, and daily limits guide the discussion. The plan can include interventional care, medicine review, or rehabilitation guidance.

Plain answers before treatment

Patients can ask about the purpose of the block, expected care steps, and follow-up needs before deciding how to proceed.

What this treatment decision can change

A focused nerve block may help reduce pain signals in selected upper-body pain conditions.

The assessment connects the injection decision with your wider pain care plan.

Patients receive a clearer explanation of which symptoms need further review.

Treatment planning can support better movement when pain limits daily activity.

Tracy checked me in. Tony triaged me and Dr Scott took care of me. They made me feel welcome and comfortable from start to finish. I don't think I've ever had a doctor's visit this WONDERFUL! I barely felt a thing and as a person who is terribly afraid of needles, they took all my fears away and provided an excellent experience. Tony plays your favorite music during the procedure and it lasts about one song. I cannot say enough good things about this place!!!

Questions patients ask about nerve block treatment

What conditions can a stellate ganglion block treat?

Nerve pain from selected conditions may respond to a stellate ganglion block. Premier Injury Specialists evaluates complex regional pain, limb pain, and postherpetic neuralgia before recommending treatment. The block does not replace a full diagnosis, and results vary. Your medical history, symptom pattern, and prior care guide the decision.

Who performs this treatment?

Premier Injury Specialists provides this treatment through physician-led pain management care. Our pain management physician reviews your symptoms and medical history before discussing an injection. Patients can ask about the purpose of the block, other treatment options, and how the procedure fits their wider plan during a consultation.

Which records should I bring to the consultation for Stellate Ganglion Block?

Medical records, imaging reports, medicine lists, and injury details help the physician assess your pain. Bring information about prior injections, therapy, and treatments that did or did not help. Patients should also describe changes in strength, sensation, skin sensitivity, and movement.

When is a different treatment needed for Stellate Ganglion Block?

A different treatment is needed when the symptoms point to another condition or the block does not fit the medical plan. The physician considers joint pain, muscle problems, medication needs, and rehabilitation goals during the assessment. Severe or sudden symptoms require prompt medical care.

Why might pain continue after an injury?

Pain may continue when irritated nerves keep sending signals after the original injury. Complex regional pain and postherpetic neuralgia can involve burning pain, sensitivity, or changes in an affected limb. A focused evaluation helps separate nerve symptoms from other causes and guides the next treatment discussion.

How does the consultation affect the treatment cost?

The treatment plan, medical assessment, and recommended care affect the cost. Premier Injury Specialists offers free consultations so patients can discuss their condition before deciding how to proceed. Ask which services the proposed plan includes and what information is needed for a clear cost discussion.
