Facet Joint Injections for focused back and neck pain care

Facet Joint Injections are considered when pain appears linked to the small joints at the back of the spine. Patients may describe axial back pain, neck pain, stiffness, or pain that worsens with certain movements.

This page helps you decide whether a joint-focused treatment discussion makes sense. A consultation does not make the injection suitable for every condition. Nerve pain, severe weakness, infection, or another spinal problem may call for a different evaluation.

Patients from Avondale Estates can request an assessment through our Stockbridge practice. The decision centers on your symptoms, exam findings, prior care, and treatment goals, not on the location alone.

  • Your main pain area and movement limits.
  • Relevant injury history and prior treatments.
  • Current medicines and known health conditions.
  • Whether the pain pattern fits joint-focused care.
  • Questions about follow-up and other treatment options.

Service Overview

Facet Joint Injections are a minimally invasive treatment that places medicine near selected spinal facet joints.

  • Facet joint injections differ from epidural injections because they target facet joints instead of the epidural space around spinal nerves.
  • Premier Injury Specialists provides this pain care for patients in Avondale Estates and surrounding communities.

The staff were super friendly and efficient with my back injections. They made me feel safe and I made a great connection with the receptionist. I was actually surprised by the low level of pain. I’ve had back injections before that were very painful, but these injections felt like a little pinch. Would definitely Recommend this facility.

Questions patients ask about facet joint injections

In terms of job preparation, what are facet joint injections used to treat?

Facet arthritis and related localized back or neck pain are common reasons to discuss facet joint injections. The treatment targets selected spinal facet joints, not every cause of pain. A Pain Management Physician reviews your symptoms and exam findings first. The plan may also include medication management or rehabilitation guidance when those services fit your needs.

Who provides facet joint injections for patients in Avondale Estates?

Premier Injury Specialists provides facet joint injections through physician-led pain management care. The consultation covers your injury history, symptoms, current medicines, and movement limits. Our team explains why the treatment may fit and what other options should be considered. Patients from Avondale Estates can request care through our Stockbridge practice.

How does a doctor decide whether these injections fit my pain?

The pain pattern, physical findings, and medical history guide the treatment decision. Localized pain near the spine may support a facet-focused discussion, while leg weakness or nerve symptoms can point elsewhere. We also review prior treatment and your daily goals. That assessment helps keep the plan focused and safe.

What should I bring to a pain consultation for Facet Joint Injections?

A current medication list and relevant medical records help the clinician assess your situation. Bring imaging reports, injury details, and notes about prior treatment when available.

  • List your main pain areas.
  • Note what movements worsen symptoms.
  • Write down questions about risks and follow-up.

Patients can then discuss a more complete history during the visit.

Which risks should I discuss before an injection?

Injection risks should be discussed with the treating medical team before you decide. Questions may cover soreness, bleeding, infection, medicine reactions, and the possibility that symptoms have another source. Tell us about allergies, medicines, health conditions, and prior procedure concerns. Individual results vary, so we avoid promising a specific outcome.

For Facet Joint Injections, why might an injection not be the right treatment?

Another diagnosis may make facet joint injections a poor fit. Severe weakness, signs of infection, significant nerve symptoms, or pain from a different structure can change the plan. Our assessment looks for those concerns before treatment. We may discuss medication care, rehabilitation guidance, or another referral when appropriate.

What part of the treatment plan changes the cost for Facet Joint Injections?

The recommended assessment and related medical care are the main cost considerations. The plan can differ based on your symptoms, records, treatment goals, and whether additional care is needed. Premier Injury Specialists offers free consultations, where patients can ask what the proposed care includes before proceeding.
